Emily and Spencers wedding day was a classic September day in northern Minnesota. It was over cast with scattered rain showers, nothing to heavy or enough to change the plans of the day. The atmosphere within the cabin reflected the weather in a calm and welcoming way. You could hear a soft murmur of the couples family members as they enjoyed their time together waiting for the bride and groom to finish the final touches.

The couple chose to elope and host a reception later in the year. Celebrating their marriage this way gave them the opportunity to truly soak in the moment without the additional planning that comes with a traditional wedding. Their level of relaxation really shows in their photo. This is one of my favorite types of weddings to photograph as a Duluth Minnesota elopement photographer.

Spencer and Emily (as well as their families) all traveled up north from southern Minnesota. To give them a real glimpse of Duluth, me adn the bride and groom went to Enger Tower in Duluth for some couples portraits overlooking Lake Superior. They also got to embrace the view of the lift bridge as well as some sunshine.
